The Deseret News is proud to host its 2nd Annual Family 1K race. The 1K fun run is a great opportunity for kids and families to enjoy the race experience and cross the finish line with thousands of spectators cheering them on - all before the Pioneer Day Parade begins!
Participants will receive a finisher medal, race bib, swag bag, and refreshments at the IHC & Select Health VIP tent at the finish line.
The race will begin at 8:45am and do a small loop in Liberty Park before joining the final 200 meters of the marathon race course. The finish will be on 900 South at the same finish line as the other races of the day.
T-Shirts are not provided with registration, but if interested, you can purchase a t-shirt through the registration site.
Parents do not need to register in order to escort their children on the course.
The 1K Race is limited to the first 500 registrants.

Online registration closes at 5pm on Wednesday, July 23. *Registration will still be available in person at packet pick-up on July 23. You may pick up packets for someone else if you bring a signed note or email authorizing you to do so. At packet pickup you will get your race bib with timing chip, shirt, and goodie bag.
*1K Participants only are allowed to pickup their packets (bibs and goodie bags) on race morning between 7:30 and 8:30am.
8:45 a.m. - The starting line is at the northeast corner of the inside loop of Liberty Park by the Chick-Fil-A Truck.
Participants can park in the side streets to the east and northeast of Liberty Park. Make sure to arrive early!
