Bring the entire family along to join in on the festivities by participating in the Deseret News 5K. Kids 14 and under get to participate for only $15 (price stays the same right up until race day). The run begins at 50 S. 900 E., Salt Lake City and finishes at Liberty Park where runners will be cheered on by over 100,000 spectators! This event will be chip timed so get your competitive spirit going and prepare to run! For those kids and families who would prefer to walk rather than run, we will be doing two start waves, the first for runners and the second for walkers. Everyone will be timed regardless of if you choose to run or walk and all finishers will receive medals!

7 a.m. - In accordance with the Salt Lake Police Department, the 5K course will close after four hours. After that, all runners will be directed toward the sidewalk and clean up at the finish line will begin.
Location: Rice Eccles Stadium - Ken Garff Scholarship Club - 451 South 1400 East, Salt Lake City, UT 84112 (South End of Rice Eccles Stadium).
Saturday, July 22 from 10am to 8pm (Preferred); and Sunday, July 23 from 2pm to 6pm if you are unable to attend the expo on Saturday.
Online registration closes at 2pm on Sunday, July 23. *Registration will still be available in person at packet pick-up on July 22-23. You may pick up packets for someone else if you bring a signed note or email authorizing you to do so. At packet pickup you will get your race bib with timing chip, shirt, and goodie bag.
*There is no race day packet pickup.
Participants will need to park or be dropped off at the starting line location at 50 South 900 E. There is an LDS Church with available parking on 950 E. 100 S. There is NO shuttle back to the starting line, so make arrangements with family and friends to pick you up from the finish line or you can walk back to your vehicle.
All finishers will receive custom finisher medals. Award medals will also be given to the top three in each age division. The age divisions are: 11 and under, 12-14, 15-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-79, 80-89, 90+, Masters Division 40+.
